Those Darn Side effect Lists on Drug Commercials--Dr. Rama

I do not think anyone who has watched TV have not seen those classical drug advertisements.

Remember, the drug companies are addressing the mass public about these medicines so that they get stirred up and take action to ask their doctors about these.---Nothing wrong with that.

However, realize that doctors are viewed as gatekeepers by the pharmaceutical industry.  Doctors are the security key by which the drug is dispensed to people---hopefully they are prescribing properly ---but sometimes they are viewed as a means to an end to sell a product.  Without that script the product does not move and profits are not made.

While many drugs have benefits of course, the side effect lists that are mentioned are very scary---even for doctors!

Have you noticed natural medicines and suggestions are mostly not advertised?  It is because of strict regulations on FDA approvals and guidelines.

Yet with approved drugs just listen to the side effect potential of all of these---and many people do get benefit but also an array of side effects that have to be constantly monitored and dealt with.

Half the commercial time is listing horrifying side effects while there are themes on screen of playing on our emotions:  enjoying family, golf, intimate relationships and so on.

It is all geared to buy and sell the product because it all plays on our emotions, fears and yet the quest for optimal health that will bring in our hopes and dreams.---Yet these darn side effect lists that are listed have to make us wonder if there is just not a better way of treating patients in a more natural model that seems to be glossed over by many forces in the medical and pharmaceutical world.

It is just ironic in my opinion, another dichotomy in our complex medical world and for the general public.
